Anyone who says that at least *part* of their drive for success isn’t to have a fuck you to those who told you you couldn’t isn’t being honest with themselves.

Or they’re not reaching for a lofty enough goal.

Like, me wanting to run on a treadmill isn’t for the fuck yous. But me wanting to sell a script that gets made in LA and make a living doing something awesome when people who work in cubicles and wear ties every days and had kids at 22 roll their eyes at me and tell me to grow up and tell me “just have something to fall back on”? Yeah, some of that is absolutely reserved for the fuck yous.

The sad/good thing is, if/when I achieve success, my bitterness will disappear, and I won’t feel nearly as hung up on the fuck yous. I’ll wish them the best and keep living my awesome life.

But until then? Fuck you is one hell of a motivation. I strongly recommend it to those of you who want to be ambitious but have nothing but love in your heart. Find the part of you that wants nothing more than to say “I told you so” to the douchebag doubters who tried to fucking shatter your confidence when you needed it most.

This is a weird post. Way more chaotic than my usual instagrams, one-off jokes, or shameless plugs for my podcast.

But if you don’t like it, I’ve got a list with your name on it.
